B.A.I.T. News
Channell and Hinton win B.A.I.T. TN-I on Ft. Loudoun / Tellico
Sunday April 13, 2008, was a cold and windy day on Ft. Loudoun / Tellico. Despite the harsh conditions, a lot of quality fish were caught. Leading the pack in first place was Wes Channell and Mark Hinton with five smallmouth tipping the scales at 20.07 lbs. This earned them $1500.00 for their efforts. A very close second place finish by Tim Smiley and Mike Lowe with 19.97 lbs. earned them $800.00 for their efforts. Third place went to Brian Harvey and Gordon Monroe with five fish weighing 17.43 lbs. worth $500.00. Fourth place went to Ray Loveday and John Inman with five fish weighing 16.55 lbs. worth $400.00. Fifth place went to Jeff Russell and Gary Johnson with 15.43 lbs. worth $300.00. Sixth place went to Chris Baggarly and Michael Scott with 15.33 lbs. worth $200.00. Forty-nine boats showed up despite the windy, cold weather. Largemouth lunker went to John Carroll and Keith Sharp weighing 6.12 lbs. and was worth $250.00. Smallmouth lunker went to Chris Baggarly and Michael Scott weighing 5.86 lbs. and was worth $250.00. Our next tournament will be May 25, 2008 on Cherokee Lake going out of the Dam access area. This should be a great time for fishing and we are looking for a good crowd. If we have a minimum of 75 boats, we will guarantee $2,000.00 first place. The more boats we have, the bigger the payoff will be. This is our last qualifying tournament for the year. The only remaining tournament after Cherokee will be the Wildcard which will also be on Cherokee, May 31, 2008, going out of the Dam access area. Many thanks to our sponsors who provide the extra money and great door prizes given away at each tournament. Also thanks to all who participated and the spectators who came to watch the weigh-in. We also want to thank the Sportsman Ministries. Joe Lee and his family are taking over the services which include fellowship, prayer, scripture reading and providing coffee and muffins for all who want for only a donation. Cherokee will be the deciding tournament for the last half of the Angler of the Year money worth $500.00. The overall Angler of the Year is worth $1,000.00.
