DeFOE and Nichols Win B.A.I.T. TN-I Opener on Cherokee

Sixty - one boats came out to compete Saturday October 3, 2009 on Cherokee Lake for B.A.I.T. TN-I's opening tournament. The weather was cool to start but turned out nice and windy. $2,500.00 was guaranteed for first place and will be guaranteed for the next two tournaments. Ott DeFOE and Jason Nichols was the team to beat weighing in a whopping bag of 21.89 lbs. They received $2,500.00 for their efforts. Second place went to Doug and David Winchell with five fish weighing 14.66 lbs. worth $800.00. Third place went to Bryant and Bill Ailor with 14.59 lbs. worth $500.00. Fourth place went to Craig Powers and John West with 14.27 lbs. worth $400.00. Fifth place went to Brandon and Jordan Card with 12.21 lbs. worth $300.00. Sixth place went to Billy Nash and Butch Goddard with 11.84 lbs. worth $300.00. Seventh place went to Gordon Monroe and Brian Mayes with 10.62 lbs. worth $200.00. Eighth place went to Justin Reeves and Rodney Whitworth with 9.40 lbs. worth $150.00.

Largemouth lunker went to Ott DeFOE and Jason Nichols weighing 4.99 lbs. and was worth $295.00. Smallmouth lunker was a tie between the teams of Doug and David Winchell and Gordon Monroe and Brian Mayes. Each team had a Smallmouth weighing 3.65 lbs. and was worth $147.50 each.

Thanks to all who fished with "America's Best Team Trail" on this beautiful opening day. Our next tournament will be held November 14, 2009 on Ft. Loudoun / Tellico Lakes. We will be going out of the Canal ramp. We are expecting an even bigger crowd and are once again guaranteeing $2,500.00 first place.

B.A.I.T.'s Classic for the 2008 / 2009 season will be held October 16th - 17th, 2009 on Cherokee Lake. We will be launching out of the 25 E Bridge ramp. Make arrangements to attend and cheer on your team to win a $35,000 Nitro Z-8 boat with a 200 hp. Mercury Optimax for first place. We will be paying one place for every five boats.
