Covington and Covington Win B.A.I.T. TN-I on Douglas

The TN-I division of B.A.I.T. got off to a great start Sunday October 23, 2011 with 44 boats showing up to compete in the first tournament of the season. The weather was beautiful and almost everybody weighed in fish. First place honors went to the team of Chris and Tommy Covington with a nice limit weighing 21.80 lbs. They received $970.00 for their efforts. Second place went to the team of Bill Hill and Jeff Gregg with 18.12 lbs. worth $570.00. Third place went to Lee Varner and Jason Horner with 16.78 lbs. worth $370.00. Fourth place went to Doug Winchell and Eddie Ball with 15.94 lbs. worth $310.00. Fifth place went to Sam McCowan and Ricky Whitt with 15.88 lbs. worth $260.00. Sixth place went to Derrick Blake and Larry Rolen with 14.65 lbs. worth $210.00. Seventh place went to Chris and George Hopson with 14.12 lbs. worth $150.00. Eighth place went to Tim Smiley and Scott Orr with 13.81 lbs. worth $110.00.

Largemouth lunker went to Lee Varner and Jason Horner weighing 5.93 lbs. and was worth $220.00. Smallmouth lunker went to Stan Bishop and Billy McLeon weighing 4.92 lbs. and was worth $220.00.

Congratulations to all and thanks for fishing "America's Best Team Trail". Our next tournament will be November 6, 2011 on Cherokee launching from 25 E. Bridge. Pre-registration will be from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday (11/06/2011) at Bucks n Bass.
