B.A.I.T. News
Hurley and Calbough Win B.A.I.T. TN-II on Watts Bar Lake
What a way to start the all new TN II B.A.I.T. Division! It was a cold start to the day but a warm finish- not just the weather, but also the team of Gary Hurley & Eddie Calbough. They had a pretty impressive 21.04 lbs of SmallMouth. That bag was also anchored with the lunker Small Mouth weighing in at 5.87lb's. They also won a $100.00 Gift card to Bunch Marine for the first place finish; all together they won over $1,430.00in cash and prizes. Not too far behind them was the team of Buzz Leffew & Bill Kees with a nice bag of Large mouth weighing in at 19.02 lbs. They also had the honor of landing the biggest Large mouth of the tournament which weighed 6.01lbs. This team also racked up on the Bunch Marine bonus money- scoring $100.00 for being the highest finishing Ranger, Triton or Bullet boat. All together they won $1,130.00. The 3rd place team has been fishing B.A.I.T. for a long time and have won alot of money over the years, not to mention being points champions in the TN I division in 2008. This team of Tim Smiley & Mike Lowe had a nice bag, weighing in at 17.84lbs; netting them $500.00. The fourth place finish went to Foy Elkins, fishing by himself- just imagine what he could have done with a partner! His catch weighed in at 14.46 lbs and earned him $360.The 5th place team of Brad Padgett & Daniel Padgett was right on Foy's Tail with a bag weighing 14.43lbs; they pocketed $310.00 for their efforts. There were alot of nice bags of fish weighed in. I want to give special thanks to Rick Ross with Kingston Park's & Recreation for the nice facilities. Also, to Bunch Marine for providing the Bonus Money for the highest finishing teams. Thanks also go out to Dixie Custom Rods & Reels for providing two custom rods which will go to the Anglers Of The Year for the TN II Division. Thanks to Mimic Lures for the nice homemade crank baits given away and C&C Sports for providing two gift cards for door prizes. If you need a place to stay when you come into town for the next Watts Bar tournament, check out the Super 8-their arms are open to fishermen. Last but not least, thanks to the good City of Kingston for welcoming us to their town. Our next tournament will be March 12th on Ft. Loudon, launching out of the Canal.
