2008 B.A.I.T. Inc. Classic Location Announced
B.A.I.T. Inc. is delighted to announce the invitation from the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Columbus MS to hold their annual 2008 B.A.I.T. Inc. Classic on the Tombigbee Waterway, Columbus Lake on September 19 and 20, 2008. For more info go to www.tenntom.org where you can view maps, etc.

THE 2008 "BEST OF THE BEST" BASS TOURNAMENT, PRESENTED BY VIRGINIA B.A.I.T AND SPONSORED BY PHIL BACHMAN TOYOTA WAS HELD SATURDAY APRIL 26, 2008. 120 OF THE AREAS TOP BASS FISHERMAN FROM SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA, SOUTHEASTERN KENTUCKY AND EASTERN TENNESSEE, COMPETED IN THE ANNUAL EVENT. GREAT WEATHER AND A GREAT CATCH OCCURRED ON THIS FISHING DAY. THIS EVENT IS DIFFERENT IN MANY WAYS. FISHERMAN MUST FINISH AT THE TOP OF THEIR CLUB OR FISHING TRAIL TO COMPETE IN THIS EVENT. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY MUST FISH WITHOUT A PARTNER. FIRST PLACE WENT TO DANIEL LOVEDAY WITH A GREAT CATCH OF 13.37# WORTH $2500.00. SECOND WENT TO LARRY HATCHER WITH A CATCH OF 13.20# WORTH $1250.00. THIRD PLACE WENT TO EDDIE BALL WITH A CATCH OF 12.57# WORTH $900.00. EDDIE BALL ALSO HAD BIG FISH ( A 6.26# LARGEMOUTH) FOR AN ADDITIONAL $600.00.

THE VIRGINIA BAIT BASS FISHING TRAIL HELD IT'S FIFTH TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR ON BBONE LAKE, 5/4/08. 80 FISHERMAN PARTICIPATED IN THE EVENT. WHAT A NICE DAY!!! WITH SOME REALLY NICE CATCHES!! FIRST PLACE WENT TO THE FATHER AND SON TEAM OF KEVIN AND PAGE POWERS WITH A CATCH OF 14.90#, WHICH ALSO INCLUDED BIG SMALL MOUTH OF 4.07#, WORTH A TOTAL OF $1200.00. SECOND PLACE WENT TO THE TEAM OF GREG MCDAVID AND JEREMY SWANSON WITH A CATCH OF 14.77# WORTH $760.00. THIRD WENT TO THE TEAM OF TIM SAYLOR AND DAVE LOUDEN WITH A CATCH OF 14.60#, WORTH $440.00. SENECA SOUTH CAROLINA YOU ARE AWESOME!! B.A.I.T. Inc. could not have been treated any better at their 2007 Classic in Seneca South Carolina on September 21 and 22, 2007.

Between the people from the City of Seneca, South Carolina, Planning and Development Department and Oconee County, South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism, we could not have been treated more like royalty. The Parks, Recreation and Tourism provided excellent facilities for launching, parking and weigh-in set-up.

Lodging for B.A.I.T. Officials was also provided at the Best Western Executive Inn and furnished by the City of Seneca Planning and Development Department. We at B.A.I.T. thank you all!

The old saying that the locals rarely win on their home lake was proven wrong this year on Lake Keowee in beautiful Seneca, South Carolina, September 21 - 22, 2007. Home town fishermen took first and second place honors at the B.A.I.T. Classic on Lake Keowee. In addition to the triumph by hometown anglers, 16 out of the top 31 teams were from South Carolina. First place prize, a ProCraft 210 Super Pro boat equipped with a 200 hp Mercury Optimax motor valued at $33,000.00 (MSRP), went to Eddie Hinson and Charles Baxter with a two-day total weight of 26.67 lbs. Hinson and Baxter lead both days with catches of 15.56 lbs. 11.11 lbs., respectively. Second place prize of $15,000.00 cash went to Gene McCall and Roger Bentley. McCall and Bentley caught 12.44 lbs. the first day and 13.71 lbs. the second day for a two-day total weight of 26.15 lbs. Third place prize of $6,000.00 went to John West and Craig Powers from the TN-I Division. West and Powers of Rockwood, TN caught 8.85 lbs. the first day and 15.27 lbs. the second day for a two-day total of 24.12 lbs. Fourth place went to Daniel Moody and Danny Liebecki from the AL-III Division with a two-day total weight of 23.99 lbs, worth $3,000.00. Fifth place went to DeWayne Perkins and Joel Williams from the SC-I Division with a two-day total weight of 23.63 lbs. worth $2,500.00. Sixth place went to Joey Fleming and Jamie Fleming from the GA-III Division with 23.57 lbs. worth $1,750.00. Seventh place went to Jason Snyder and Rodney Chastain from the GA-I Division with 23.34 lbs. worth $1,000.00. Eighth place went to Steven James and Josh Burns from the SC-I Division with 21.50 lbs. worth $900.00. Ninth place went to Kirby Thacker and Scotty Adkins from the KY-I Division with 21.48 lbs. worth $800.00. Rounding out the top ten was the team of Steve Harwood and Tim Eplee from the VA-I Division with 20.69 lbs. worth $700.00.

Eleventh through fifteenth places all paid $600.00 each. Eleventh place went to Mike Stuart and Aaron curry from the SC-I Division with 20.58 lbs. Twelfth place went to Nathan Stuart and Brian Pierce from the GA-III Division with 20.16 lbs. Thirteenth place went to brian and Michael Tidwell from the SC-I Division with 20.15 lbs. Fourteenth place went to Scott Sellers and Randy Childers from the SC-I Division with 20.04 lbs. Fifteenth place went to Brad and Daniel Padgett from the TN-I Division with 19.96 lbs.

Sixteenth through Twentieth place all paid $550.00 each. Sixteenth place went to Carson Mabry and Jason Burroughs from the GA-I Division with 19.91 lbs. Seventeenth place went to Mike Reeves and Stacey Fowler from the GA-III Division with 19.81 lbs. Eighteenth place went to Jayme Rampey and DeWayne Collins from the SC-I Division with 19.78 lbs. Nineteenth place went to Ryan Bowman and Casey Reeves from the SC-I Division with 19.57 lbs. Twentieth place went to Johnny Stewart and Matt Miller from the SC-I Division with 19.57 lbs.

Twenty-first through twenty-fifth place all paid $500.00 each. Twenty-first place went to Barton Aiken and Jeff Rohaley from the SC-I Division with 19.51 lbs. Twenty-second place went to Ken and Brian Vicchio from the VA-I Division with 19.36 lbs. Twenty-third place went to Charles Murphy and Jeff Glover from the SC-I Division with 19.20 lbs. Twenty-fourth place went to Tommy Chumley and Curtis Roper from the GA-III Division with 18.85 lbs. Twenty-fifth place went to Karl Pingry and Rob Rice from the GA-III Division with 18.75 lbs.

Twenty-sixth through thirty-first places all paid $350.00 each. Twenty-sixth place went to Greg Glouse and Tyler Thompson from the SC-I Division with 18.64 lbs. Twenty-seventh place went to Trey and Sonny Dummit from the SC-I Division with 18.57 lbs. Twenty-eighth place went to Robbie Gwinn and Darrell Willbanks from the SC-I Division with 18.56 lbs. Twenty-ninth place went to Bernard Watkins and Bryan Bell from GA-III with 17.94 lbs. Thirtieth place went to Eddie Ball and Doug Winchell from the TN-I Division with 17.39 lbs. Thirty-first place went to Brad Brooks and Mack Burdette from the SC-I Division with 16.82 lbs.

Lunkers for both days paid $918.00 for first lunker and $612.00 for second lunker. The first day, first place lunker went to Brad and Daniel Padgett from the TN-I weighing 5.52 lbs. The first day, second place lunker went to Bryan Blackwood and Tommy Holcombe from the AL-V Division weighing 4.28 lbs. The second day, first place lunker went to Craig Little and Nate Mayer from the GA-I Division weighing 5.58 lbs. The second day, second place lunker went to Gene McCall and Roger Bentley from the SC-I Division weighing 4.68 lbs.

A grand total of $80,000.00 in cash and prizes was given away at this year's classic. Our 2007 - 2008 season starts right away for several divisions.

A special thanks goes out to Sportsman Ministries, which is headed by Tim Kimsey from Louisville, TN. They are part of the B.A.I.T team and brings scripture and prayer to all of our Classic's. Tim brings along his team and feeds the anglers after each day's events. They work strictly from donations. We are very blessed to have them.
